Series 2 Episode 1
The Great Garden Revolution is back with a new series! Spring is?here?and our doors are finally opening to fresh air, plants and possibilities. Horticulturist Errol Reuben Fernandes, designer Joel Bird and craftsman Bruce Kenneth are here to show us how to make the most of our outdoor spaces. Each week, the team create a different type of garden, transforming outdoor spaces around the country, from grow-your-own and sensory gardens to gardens for wildlife. With sustainability in mind, they aim to highlight a new approach to gardening, one that we can all get involved in, giving us practical hands-on advice of what to make, build and plant so that you can join the revolution from wherever you are, with whatever you have. In this episode, Errol, Joel and Bruce show us how to make sensory gardens that relax us and allow us to do things a bit differently, with plenty of tips and inspiring ideas on how to create your own. In Chichester, the team meet the Cattras – beginner gardeners looking for a space that can allow them to unwind after a stressful day. Joel creates a tea bed where everything can be used to create a perfect brew, Errol shows us how to turn an unloved gravel patch into a drought-loving paradise and Bruce adds a bespoke firepit that anyone can have a go at. By the time the team have finished, the Cattras’ garden will be totally transformed into something that engages our sight, hearing, smell and taste. Plus, BBC Radio 1 DJ Greg James shows us how he has transformed his previously all-paved garden. Exec Prods: Fintan Maguire, Emily Hudd; Prod Co: Rumpus Media
