Olympic Breakfast: Day 12: Olympic Breakfast

Dan Walker and Sam Quek introduce the climax to events in skateboarding, boxing and sailing, along with cyclist Jason Kenny beginning his defence of the men’s sprint title.

Skateboarder Sky Brown has become Great Britain’s youngest summer Olympian a year after suffering serious injuries in a horrific training accident. Can the 2019 world medallist finish on the podium in the sport’s first Olympic appearance?

There are high hopes too for British sailors in today’s men’s and women’s 470 medal races. In the latter, Hannah Mills is seeking a second successive Olympic gold, this time with new partner Eilidh McIntyre. In boxing, it’s the final of the men’s light heavyweight division, in which Briton Ben Whittaker earned world bronze in 2019.

BBC Olympic Breakfast starts on Saturday 6th August at 6am, and will be waking up Britain with all the overnight action from Rio 2016.

Based in a special studio within the home of BBC Sport for the duration of the Games, BBC Olympic Breakfast will be bringing audiences the overnight highlights and thrills of the world’s greatest sporting spectacle.

The regular team on the sofa will link up with Dan Walker, Ore Oduba and Kat Downes in Rio. It will be the first chance to catch up on all the medal moments, the latest news and the key interviews from the Games and of course to follow all the action from Team GB.

In addition to the excitement of the Olympics, Breakfast will continue to feature the usual news, weather and regional bulletins.
