Murder In The Alps | Channel 4 28 June 2022

Episode 3

Almost 10 years after the brutal murder of a British family at a beauty spot in the French Alps, the case remains unsolved. Former investigators and the brother of one of the victims – once himself the prime suspect in the case – tell the story of the mysterious shooting and the sprawling police investigation that continues to this day. The concluding episode of the series sees prime suspect Zaid Al-Hilli released without charge and asks why so much attention was focused on him. Former senior investigating police officer Mark Preston turns the case on its head with a surprising new theory. Investigators admit that mistakes were made, and examine whether the killer could still be found, almost a decade after the shootings.
