ITV, ITVX announce the cast and commencement of filming for You & Me

ITV, ITVX announce the cast and commencement of filming for

Casting has been announced for screenwriter Jamie Davis’ brand new London-set 3-part drama for ITV and ITVX, You & Me, commissioned by ITV’s Head of Drama, Polly Hill.

The drama will premiere on ITV’s brand new, free streaming service ITVX in 2023, before transferring to linear transmission months later.

Produced by Happy Prince, part of ITV Studios, and executive produced by Dominic Treadwell-Collins (A Very English Scandal, Holding, Eastenders) and Alexander Lamb (We Hunt Together, The Bay, Ackley Bridge), with Russell T Davies (It’s A Sin, Doctor Who, Years and Years, Queer As Folk, A Very English Scandal) also serving as executive producer, the series has begun filming on location in South East London, with a first glimpse of the cast revealed today.

Harry Lawtey (Industry, The Pale Blue Eye) plays Ben, a young northerner in London who finds his life changed forever when catastrophe strikes on the happiest day of his life. Jessica Barden (The End of the F***ing World, Pieces of Her, Far From The Madding Crowd) plays Emma, a rising theatre star who hides tragedy behind her success. And Sophia Brown (The Witcher: Blood Origin, Giri/Haji and Borderland) plays Jess, a young woman whose life takes an unexpected turn when she’s running for a bus…

Harry Lawtey says; “It’s a real privilege to be trusted with Ben’s story. You & Me is a brilliant, contemporary look at what it means to love. It’s about hope, heartache and that tendency for life to move a little faster than you’re able to keep up. Working alongside Sophia, Jess and this great crew is a joy – I can’t wait to share what we’ve made.”

Jessica Barden says; “I feel so lucky to be working with so many talented and iconic people. The type of story we are telling is what the British film and TV industry does best, and I can’t wait for people to see the show!”

Sophia Brown says; “I’m thrilled to be working alongside the brilliant Jess and Harry to help bring Jamie’s beautiful scripts to life. I fell in love with the characters so quickly – at every turn they made me laugh, then made me cry. What makes the project so special is how swiftly we capture the intricacy of life – how delicate love, loss, friendship and parenthood are in the modern world.”

You & Me is a quintessentially modern love story shot through with the twists, turns and surprises of a gripping thriller. It explores what it means to find love, what it means to lose love, and what it takes to try and love once again.

Warm, lyrical, engaging and enchanting, but also profoundly moving and unabashed in confronting the very real struggles that can be faced in the modern world, You & Me is Davis’s updated, fresh and contemporary take on the much-loved British romcom.

Told over two separate timelines across the three episodes, You & Me reveals, chapter by chapter, the tragedies that have shaped Ben, Emma and Jess. And as the “then” gives way to the “now”, a chance encounter leads their lives (and their loved ones) to collide. As they find themselves offered a second chance at love, will they take it or will the past hold them back?

Also featured in the cast are Julie Hesmondhalgh (Coronation Street, Broadchurch, The A Word) as Ben’s mum Linda, Andi Osho (Stay Close, The Sandman, Breeders) as Jess’s mum Pam, award-winning stage star Janie Dee (Crashing, Me and Orson Welles) as Emma’s mum Hannah, with Lily Newmark (Sex Education, Temple) playing Joey, Emma’s sister.

You & Me is more than just a love story. It is also a story about love…about finding love when you least expect it, about losing it, about parental and sibling love, about sex and friendship, about the difficult decisions we must all make in the name of love, and the often searingly painful cost of love.

BAFTA-winning director Tom Vaughan (Doctor Foster, Press, Screw) directs the 3 x 60’ drama, which will be executive produced by Dominic Treadwell-Collins and Alexander Lamb for Happy Prince. Russell T Davies also serves as Executive Producer. Michael Ray is producing the series.

ITV’s Head of Drama Polly Hill will oversee production of the series from the channel’s perspective.

The series is produced in association with, and distributed by, ITV Studios.

Dominic Treadwell-Collins and Russell T Davies previously worked together on A Very English Scandal, starring Hugh Grant and Ben Whishaw, which garnered critical acclaim as well as being recognised at the Baftas, Rose D’Or, Golden Globes and Emmy Awards.

ITV commissions new Olivia Attwood series

ITV and Tall Story Pictures announce filming has commenced on

Olivia Attwood will make a full-bodied dive into the world of cosmetic surgery for a brand-new ITV series, Olivia Attwood’s Perfect…(w/t).

Following the success of her current ITV show, Olivia Attwood: Getting Filthy Rich, which explores online sex, Olivia will now immerse herself in an even more eye-boggling and cash-crazed industry – and one which she, herself, is no stranger to.

In the hands-on style viewers of Getting Filthy Rich will be familiar with, Olivia will not flinch as she delves into the extreme lengths people go to in order to achieve the ‘perfect look.’

Olivia will investigate the high-risk nature of going under the knife and the jeopardy that comes with any procedure, as well as the eye-watering amount of money some are willing to spend on their dream appearance.

Olivia asks beyond the price tag what are the potential human costs of surgery and gets up close and personal with cosmetic surgery’s winners and losers.

As a veteran of two boob jobs, a thread lift and multiple injectables, Olivia Attwood is not entirely new to cosmetic surgery. But, in this fresh and immersive series, Olivia wants to go way beyond her previous experience to find out how science and social media are redefining beauty as we all chase the perfect selfie.

In the age of the “tweakment”, the self-scrutiny of the Zoom Boom and the ubiquity of social media, Britain’s cosmetic surgeons have never been busier as one in three of us say we’d be up for a nip and tuck.

In each episode of Olivia Attwood’s Perfect…(w/t), Olivia will investigate a different part of the body, as she sets out to be the perfect guide to Olivia’s Perfect Vagina, Olivia’s Perfect Bottom, Olivia’s Perfect Penis, Olivia’s Perfect Boobs and Olivia’s Perfect Face.

Olivia will embed herself with patients and practitioners, discovering the astonishing range of procedures now available and why so many people are so keen to undergo them – she will even try out some of the treatments herself and perhaps sample the other side of the syringe by administering treatments.

Frank, funny and relatable, this series will lift the lid on our search for the perfect body.

Olivia said; “I am completely fascinated by cosmetic surgery and I’ve always been open about the treatments I’ve had done. This is an opportunity for me to get under the skin of the industry, meet key players, find out what’s happening – the good, the bad and the ugly – and what direction we’re heading in. I can’t wait to get started.”

Olivia Attwood’s Perfect Body is commissioned for ITV and ITVX by Kate Teckman, Commissioner and Head of Development for Factual Entertainment.

Kate said; “We are delighted that Olivia is fronting another series for us at ITV. I can’t think of a better guide for viewers to give them a genuinely revealing insight into the reality of an extraordinary multi billion pound industry. She will throw herself into this subject with real honesty, curiosity and humour.”

The series is produced by Optomen Television. Executive Producers are Tina Flintoff and Nick Hornby.

ITV commissions Rolf Harris documentary

The world’s biggest cooking contest, Next Level Chef, comes to

A unique access documentary examining the shocking truth behind how former national treasure Rolf Harris betrayed the trust of the nation and hid in plain sight whilst sexually abusing children and young women for years, has been commissioned by ITV for ITVX.

Made by Optomen, Rolf Harris: Hiding in Plain Sight (w/t) will speak to Harris’ victims, the police who investigated him and colleagues who worked alongside him to tell the story of his rise and fall.

Harris led a toxic double-life, molesting contributors and crew on the shows he worked on for years. Almost a decade on from his arrest, the films speak directly to Harris’ accusers, telling the story of how his assaults became gradually more serious throughout his excelling television career in the 70s and 80s.

A 2×60, the films will document Harris’ public persona of a non-threatening eccentric who was devoted to his wife whilst revealing that actually, within the industry, Harris was increasingly known as a creep. Police began investigating him in the wake of the Saville scandal, and discovered that the truth was even darker than that – he had abused his daughter’s friend when she was just 13.

The films explore Harris’ remorseless attitude in court and his wife and daughter’s decision to stand by him. What does his story say about the nature of historical child abuse, and would he have been uncovered were it not for Saville?

Rolf Harris: Hiding in Plain Sight (w/t) is commissioned for ITV and ITVX by Kate Teckman, Commissioner and Head of Development for Factual Entertainment.

Kate said: “There are few stories as shocking as Rolf Harris. These films give a voice to Harris’ accusers, and will reveal just how the seemingly wholesome ‘national treasure’ was able to molest and abuse his victims in plain sight.”

The series is produced by Optomen Television, an All3Media Company. Executive Producers are Tina Flintoff and Nick Hornby.
