Hungry For It | BBC Three 28 June 2022

Series 1 Episode 4

It’s veggie week, and with over seven million Brits following a meat-free diet, plant-based cooking is big business in the UK. For the Level Up challenge, the cooks are challenged to create their best veggie junk food dishes.

This week’s Service Challenge is to create a menu of delicious veggie dishes using meat alternatives in a creative and nutritious way. The cooks are introduced to guest judge Sarah Graham, an innovation manager from Quorn. The prize is work experience in product development in Quorn’s innovation centre, as well as getting a recipe featured on the brand’s website and social channels.

One hundred hungry diners also include two very special guests from the world of sport: team GB’s Olympic silver medallist Kye Whyte and Charlotte Henshaw, who holds the Paralympic gold for kayaking. The cooks are tasked to make vegetarian meals that are both delicious and contain enough nutrients and protein for a balanced diet – something important to performance athletes like Kai and Charlotte.

The service is not without drama, and there’s tension between several of Big Zuu’s cooks in the pop-up, making it difficult for him to pick which cook he should send into Knives Out.

In a tense Knives Out, the bottom two cooks must cook a frying-pan pizza from scratch in just 15 minutes.
