The BAFTA-winning series is back as the First Dates restaurant reopens its doors to a brand new crop of hopeful singletons looking to find love on a real blind date. Jamie is 34, a plumber, and hasn’t had a proper girlfriend for almost 10 years. A geezer who drinks vodka and cranberry juice, he has a knack for saying the wrong thing.
Looks are the most important thing to Jamie. His date is Leigh, who is looking for a muscley, practical guy who’s good with his hands. Will Jamie’s flirting techniques be enough to win Leigh over, or will he make a meal of it in the First Dates restaurant? Shelly is a 57-year-old personal trainer from Chertsey who has been single for seven years since the tragic death of her partner.
Shelly’s date is David, a 61-year-old retired firefighter who’s been single for four years and is looking for someone to relight his fire. Last into the restaurant is 27-year-old Joe. A steampunk enthusiast dressed in full Victorian attire, Joe’s date is 29-year-old Jess from Wolverhampton, who used to work at the Black Country Living Museum, where she dressed everyday as a Victorian until the corsets got too much for her. Joe cannot believe his luck.
