Escape To The Château | Channel 4 26 February 2022

Junior Bake Off | Channel 4 28 January 5:00pm

Series 8 Episode 2

The action-packed series with more Strawbridge family adventures, awe-inspiring renovation projects and big reveals. Dick, Angel, Arthur and Dorothy share more enchanting tales from the chateau, as they continue the renovation of their 19th-century fairy-tale home and grounds. With weddings and events on hold for the second year, Dick and Angel are tackling the chateau’s exterior. The roof and outside walls are their biggest project to date, and the chateau quickly becomes a building site! Despite the havoc, the chateau reveals more of its secrets, while Dick and Angel continue to find ingenious ways of bringing new rooms back to life and creating a home full of happy memories. In this episode, it’s the beginning of spring and, in the walled garden, it’s the start of a new year of pottering and planting for the Strawbridge family. Dick and Angel also start the biggest, messiest and most expensive job they’ve ever done at the chateau: replacing the whole of the original roof. Repairing, re-tiling and re-insulating will take months of hard work, but things quickly get underway, starting with the delivery of 40,000 slates from Spain. Inside the chateau, attention turns to the resurrection of Dick’s beloved preserves cupboard on the ground floor. It’s more of a room than a cupboard, and Angel’s vision is for an explosion of colour, packed full of bottled and preserved home-grown produce. But first, they must repair and decorate the walls, and painstakingly revive all 50 metres of the original handcrafted oak shelves. In preparation for restocking the shelves, the Strawbridges go hunting in the walled garden for ingredients and, together, the family make home-grown mint tea and rainbow sweetcorn relish. The new room means there’s finally a space for Angel to display her copper still, a recent birthday gift from Dick, with which she tries her hand at distilling freshly cut eucalyptus and creating beautifully fragrant essential oil. The Undeclared War | Channel 4 14 July 2022

Junior Bake Off | Channel 4 28 January 5:00pm
Episode 3

Cyber thriller from BAFTA-winning creator Peter Kosminsky that lifts the veil on the most urgent battle of our time. Set in 2024, The Undeclared War tracks a leading team of analysts buried in the heart of GCHQ, secretly working to ward off a series of cyber-attacks on the UK in the run-up to a general election. When a routine stress test of internet infrastructure goes awry, 21-year-old GCHQ intern Saara Parvin (Hannah Khalique-Brown) suddenly finds herself operating on the invisible frontier of high-stakes cyber warfare. In a thrilling cat-and-mouse game, Saara and the team at GCHQ must try to stay one step ahead and anticipate their opponents’ every hidden move. The clock is ticking as a battle with high stakes and unpredictable enemies takes place entirely online, with very real consequences. But how do you win a war that most of the public don’t know you’re fighting? Also starring Simon Pegg, Maisie Richardson-Sellers, Adrian Lester, Alex Jennings, Mark Rylance and Kerry Godliman. In the third episode, Saara’s classmate Vadim Trusov (German Segal) returns to St Petersburg from university in London when Putin’s government tells all Russian students to leave the UK. He reluctantly starts work at Glavset, a covert organisation that uses social media to influence public opinion in Britain. There, Vadim meets Marina (Tinatin Dalakishvili), a single mother with her own reasons for working on the inside of the propaganda machine. Initially hostile, Marina and Vadim become closer, while Vadim becomes the victim of his own success at work and is drawn further into Russia’s cyber warfare efforts. The more he understands about what they might be planning, the more uneasy he grows – leading him to a risky stunt. Writer/Dir: Peter Kosminsky; Exec Prods: Peter Kosminsky, Colin Callender, Noëlette Buckley; Prod: Robert Jones; Prod Cos: Playground, Stonehenge Films and Universal International Studios for Channel 4 and Peacock.
