British-Born Chinese vlogger Shu Lin explores the history of the Chinese community in the UK from the 1950s through to the present day. With film and television archive, and first-hand accounts she discovers how Chinese migrants transformed Britain’s bland post-war dining scene. From restaurants to TV cooking shows the eating habits of a nation were changed forever.
She finds out how an area of Soho became the vibrant Chinatown we see today, and traces how the community has transformed from relying heavily on the restaurant trade to achieving outstanding business and educational success.
