Meanwhile, Mike, Michelle and expert hound Oscar are digging for truffles in the orchards Mike planted 15 years ago. He was hedging bets back then, but now he sells his special fungi to chefs and restaurants. Festival Day offers a chance for customers to try before they buy and Mike is on a mission to introduce truffles to a wider audience

The bear’s milk is also starting to run dry and she is refusing to let Miki suckle – while her desperation for food means that for the first time she sees Gordon as a possible meal
